I did this for a while with a pilot I knew (we have since lost contact). Even though I will never qualify for a pilots licence it's fun to jump in an aeroplane with another pilot or instructor and take it for a spin. For a few months in 1998 I was able to get a little free flying time on Friday afternoons, with an instructor from my old flying club when he ferried the club tomahawk to the weekend airfield.
The best flight I ever had was in a Royal Australian Airforce Pilatus PC-9 turboprop trainer with newly graduated, flying officer David Kovalevs (who went on to 75 Squadron to fly Hornets) at RAAF base Pearce in Western Australia before I went to Barcelona in 1992. In the photo section there is a photo of me in all the flight gear in front of the aircraft I flew.
